'FFS!': Rio Ferdinand laments Christian Eriken's three-month ankle injury lay-off, while Jamie Carragher calls it a 'big blow' to Manchester United - as fans implore the Red Devils to sign to a midfield cover or it'd be 'disgraceful'

Rio Ferdinand and Jamie Carragher lead the reaction to the news of Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen being ruled out for three months.

The Denmark international suffered an ankle injury from Andy Carroll's reckless lunge on Saturday, that will leave boss Erik ten Hag without the key midfielder for a lengthy period of time.

The 30-year-old midfielder suffered the issue after Carroll tackled him from behind in the 3-1 FA Cup win and he was later seen leaving Old Trafford on crutches.
