EXCLUSIVEWayne Rooney and Fara Williams to receive this year's Legends of Football awards in recognition of their commitment to playing for England after earning 297 international caps between them

Wayne Rooney and Fara Williams are set to be honoured by receiving this year's Legends of Football awards.

The former England stars, who won 297 international caps between them, will be inducted into the Legends of Football Hall of Fame in October following last year's winners Ian Wright and Emma Hayes.

Rooney and Williams have been chosen as dual award winners to recognise their commitment to playing for their country.

The former Manchester United and Everton striker is England's most-capped male outfield player with 120 appearances and was the country's record goal-scorer until is tally of 53 goals was broken by Harry Kane last year, while Williams won an incredible 177 caps during a 20-year career in which she represented England at seven major tournaments.
