The greatest marathon runner of all time will take to the streets of London on Sunday for the first time in five years. More recently, though, Eliud Kipchoge was in England for another marathon-sized challenge — trying to improve Manchester United.
Shortly after last summer’s Paris Olympics, the Kenyan legend was invited to United’s Carrington training ground by his close friend Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club’s minority shareholder.
Ratcliffe’s company, Ineos, also sponsor Kipchoge’s NN Running Team, and the double Olympic champion was asked to come and share his expertise with United’s underperforming players and staff.
