Everton enter the race to sign Man United starlet Hannibal Mejbri on loan but face competition from Sevilla... with the in-demand 20-year-old set to sign a new deal before leaving Old Trafford this month

Everton are rivalling Sevilla to take Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri on loan.

The Tunisia international had indicated he wanted to join Sevilla once given clearance by United manager Erik ten Hag, but Premier League rivals Everton have also made an approach.

The 20-year-old asked not to be selected by Tunisia for the Africa Cup of Nations as he focuses on his next move.

Lyon and Freiburg have also made enquiries for Mejbri, who is due to extend his United contract by another season before a loan is agreed.

The midfielder has been on the books at Man United since 2019, having made his senior debut for United in a 2-1 victory against Wolves at Molineux back in 2021.
