Crystal Palace starlet Jesurun Rak-Sakyi destined for Germany after REJECTING professional deal to stay at Selhurst Park... with Schalke and Borussia Monchengladbach jostling for 18-year-old midfielder

Highly-rated Crystal Palace prospect Jesurun Rak-Sakyi looks set to sign for either Borussia Monchengladbach or Schalke after turning down the offer of a professional contract.

The 18-year-old, a left-footed attacking midfielder who also plays on the wing, has caught the attention of scouts after a string of impressive performances at U18 and U23 level and is regarded as one of the brightest talents to emerge from their academy since Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who joined Manchester United for £45million. Indeed, Rak-Sakyi's rich vein of form has produced seven goals in his last six games.

The young Englishman, who also qualifies for Ghana, joined Palace from Chelsea's academy and has been lauded by coaching staff for his pace, technical ability, tactical awareness and eye for goal.
