Clubs have already been racing to get early deals done this summer ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The revamped and expanded tournament has done more than just extending the club football campaign beyond May, it has also led to a new and unusual registration period.
The first section of the bizarrely split window began on June 1 and will end on June 10 - four days before the start of FIFA's new-look tournament. It is a short period for teams to get deals done.
However, it's not like Premier League clubs will have to wait long to resume the trading of players.
