Blind completes transfer from United back to Ajax

The versatile and technically-gifted Netherlands international has signed a four-year contract with his boyhood club in Amsterdam, from whom he initially joined the Reds in August 2014.

Blind made the move to Old Trafford after starring at the World Cup in Brazil, where he famously supplied the left-footed cross that led to former United striker Robin van Persie’s now iconic diving header against Spain.

Holland went on to reach the semi-finals of that tournament under the management of Louis van Gaal, who took charge of United afterwards and made Daley one of his first acquisitions.

In total, across four seasons in England, Blind registered 141 Reds appearances and scored six goals.
