Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is targeting a move for Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof in January.
The Old Trafford outfit have already contacted the Swedish defender's representatives and they believe they can close the deal in the January transfer market.
United, sure to face competition for Lindelof, are looking to bulk up their defence and club scouts reportedly watched him during Benfica's 6-0 win over Maritimo on Saturday in the Taca de Portugal, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.
The 22-year-old has plenty of experience already in club football and produced an impressive display when Benfica narrowly lost 3-2 on aggregate to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals last season.
