Manchester United took a giant step towards the Europa League final by beating Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in Spain on Thursday night.
After Alejandro Garnacho had a goal ruled out early on for a marginal offside, Casemiro headed United in front on the half hour mark following a fine run and cross from Harry Maguire.
A huge moment in the tie then arrived just a few minutes later as Athletic defender Vivian was adjudged to have pulled back Rasmus Hojlund in the penalty area. Following a lengthy VAR check, United were awarded a penalty and Vivian was sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
