Aston Villa 'will demand £80m to sell Manchester United target Jack Grealish... even if they are relegated and he asks to leave' due to the club's strong financial footing

Aston Villa are set to stick with their £80million asking price for captain Jack Grealish even if they are relegated amid Manchester United's growing interest in signing him.

The 24-year-old is believed to be top of United's transfer wishlist this summer with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to bolster his midfield options.

However, despite fears that Villa will be forced to sell Grealish if they are relegated from the Championship, reports say that the club's strong financial situation means the club will not sell on the cheap.

According to the Mirror, Villa owners Nassef Sawaris and Wes Edens will not drop Grealish's asking price for any reason and will stick to this policy over the summer.
