Aston Villa release Manchester United-bound goalkeeper Tom Heaton on a free transfer while veteran defenders Ahmed Elmohamady and Neil Taylor are also let go by Dean Smith

Aston Villa have announced the departures of Manchester United-bound goalkeeper Tom Heaton along with defenders Ahmed Elmohamady and Neil Taylor on free transfers.

Villa confirmed on their official website that all three players will leave when their contracts expire this summer.

Sportsmail reported earlier this month that Manchester United were in talks with Heaton on a free transfer, with the Red Devils wanting the 35-year-old as experienced back-up to Dean Henderson and David de Gea.
