Dean Saunders has slammed Manchester United's globe-trotting pre-season schedule and believes they can have no complaints if player welfare suffers.

The Reds will clock up approximately 16,000 miles playing eight pre-season fixtures in the coming month, beginning with Wednesday's meeting with Leeds United in the Norwegian capital Oslo.

Erik ten Hag's side then take on Lyon in Edinburgh next Wednesday before jetting off for a four-stop tour of the United States.

They take on Arsenal in New York, Wrexham in San Diego, Real Madrid in Houston and Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas.
