AC Milan insist Zlatan Ibrahimovic has a 'calf injury' as Italian giants move to downplay rumoured career-threatening Achilles injury suffered in training

AC Milan have insisted Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a calf injury in training on Monday after reports he had a suspected ruptured Achilles.

There were fears the reported injury could have brought an end to his long career in the game with his Milan contract set to expire in the summer after signing a short-term deal in January.

Sky Sports Italia via Marca claimed the former Manchester United forward was feared to have ruptured his Achilles tendon, an injury that would have put him out of action for a long time.
