Fans have questioned Gareth Southgate's decision to leave Ivan Toney at home for the World Cup after the Brentford netted a dramatic brace in his side's win over Manchester City.
Despite having scored eight goals in 13 Premier League games this season before taking his tally into double figures in the win over Pep Guardiola's side, Toney was not selected in Southgate's 26-man squad.
Alongside England talisman Harry Kane, Southgate preferred Marcus Rashford and Callum Wilson over the in-form Toney as the strikers that will be on the plane to Qatar.
