'That’s the best I’ve seen a centre-back pairing play him!': Pundits marvel at Antonio Rudiger's performance for Real Madrid against Man City... as German is credited with shutting out Erling Haaland during first-leg draw

Pundits have heaped praise on the 'excellent' performance by Antonio Rudiger in Real Madrid's clash with Man City on Tuesday night.

The Spanish giants were held to a 1-1 draw with Pep Guardiola's side in the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final clash, after goals from Vinicius Jr and Kevin De Bruyne.

Madrid were able to withstand the threat of City's Erling Haaland, who has gone from strength to strength since joining the Premier League champions last summer.

This was largely down to the role that Rudiger player on the night, with his aggressive defensive style proving to be an issue for the Norwegian.
