Pep Guardiola signed a three-year deal at Manchester City in November 2020 and appears more than content to stay at the Etihad Stadium, but Javi Miguel of Onze (h/t CCMA) says new Barcelona present Joan Laporta tried to lure him back to the Camp Nou this summer.
Talks were reportedly held between Guardiola and Laporta, but the former turned down the proposal and said Luis Enrique should eventually replace Ronald Koeman. Pep has no desire to return to Barcelona, so it’s great news for City fans.
The 50-year-old was appointed City manager in 2016 after leaving Bayern Munich and has taken charge of 295 matches, winning 220 games and losing just 44.
