Peter Crouch LOVES Manchester City star and likens him to Fernando Torres during Spaniard's time at Liverpool... with Pep Guardiola turning to 'all-round' forward in Erling Haaland's absence

Peter Crouch has issued a glowing review of Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez and has claimed the Blues understudy is enduring a similar situation to what he had during his time at Liverpool.

The former Anfield striker was relegated to the bench on plenty of occasions during his time at Liverpool as he played second-fiddle to Spanish star Fernando Torres.

Speaking ahead of Man City's Etihad clash with his former side, Crouch revealed he 'loves' Argentina World Cup winner Alvarez who starts in the absence of the injured Erling Haaland.
