Pep Guardiola reveals Sergio Aguero is set to make his first start since OCTOBER in FA Cup clash with Birmingham after overcoming knee and hamstring injuries... as City boss waits to see if Ferran Torres and Ederson return negative Covid tests

Sergio Aguero is set to start Manchester City's FA Cup third-round tie against Birmingham on Sunday, manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

Aguero, City's record goalscorer, has not started a game since October due to knee and hamstring problems.

Guardiola said at a press conference on Friday: 'Yesterday he trained really well, today he was off. Tomorrow if he feels good he is going to play.'

City have been without eight players following positive tests for Covid-19 since Christmas Day.

Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus are now available again after completing their periods of isolation while Ederson, Ferran Torres and Tommy Doyle are expected to be the next to return.
