Pep Guardiola's future as Manchester City boss has been thrown into doubt after the club were charged with breaking a lengthy list of financial rules on Monday.
The Premier League have imposed charges on City for breaching financial regulations over 100 times from September 2009 up until the 2017-18 season, with their alleged violations relating to revenue, details of manager and player remuneration, UEFA regulations, profitability and sustainability and co-operation with top-flight investigations.
The matter will now be referred to an independent commission, and should the English champions be found guilty they face a range of potential sanctions including a points deduction or even an expulsion.
