Pep Guardiola branded West Brom’s Sam Allardyce a genius as he claimed Premier League boards have now abandoned the idea of managerial projects.
Guardiola meets Allardyce at the Hawthorns on Tuesday night as Manchester City attempt to take charge of the title race.
The City boss lavished praise on Allardyce for his track record in keeping teams in the division.
‘Sam Allardyce is a genius to take these teams - when everyone believes it’s over - and gets results,’ Guardiola said.
‘If it happens once or twice then it’s lucky but not in this case as he’s done it I don’t know how many times.
