‘Nose fracture’, ‘orbital fracture’ – Man City player reveals injury diagnosis after UCL defeat

Kevin De Bruyne was forced off the pitch early in Saturday’s Champions League defeat to Chelsea after a collision with Antonio Rudiger, and now the 29-year-old has revealed his injury diagnosis after returning from hospital.

De Bruyne said on Twitter: “Hi guys. Just got back from the hospital. My diagnosis is acute nose bone fracture and left orbital fracture. I feel okay now. Still disappointed about yesterday. Obviously we will be back.”

De Bruyne was fouled by Rudiger before the hour mark and left the pitch in tears. His eye was visibly swollen and Pep Guardiola had no choice but to haul him off and now he faces a race to be fit for this summer’s European Championships.
