Manchester United 2-3 Manchester City: Casey Stoney's project is still on track despite a tough start to 2020 but FA Cup defeat shows silverware is far from guaranteed

After two defeats in four games since the turn of the year, plus now being dumped out of the FA Cup, this is as close to a slump as Casey Stoney has experienced since taking the reins at Manchester United in June 2018.

But even though their Fourth Round exit on Saturday will hurt - and even more so given it was local rivals Manchester City who dished out the punishment, are we expecting too much from a side formed just 19 months ago?

The top-flight newcomers lost the tie 3-2 in front of a modest 1,948 crowd at Leigh Sports Village Stadium in only the third meeting between the sides.
