Former club Porto and Valencia have made enquiries for Eliaquim Mangala at Manchester City.
The 25-year-old defender also has interest from Italian club Napoli as the transfer deadline looms.
Premier League clubs have also shown interest in the Frenchman but City would prefer the £31.8m signing to go abroad.
Mangala has made 65 appearances for City since signing from Porto in 2014 but has failed to convince in many of the matches.
Valencia have also spoken to Manchester United about Marcos Rojo but were told he is not for sale.
