Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is desperate to sign highly-rated Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara, according to the Mail Online.
Guardiola, who managed Thiago at both Barcelona and Bayern, wants the the 27-year-old to inject some energy into his ageing midfield, with David Silva and Fernandinho in their thirties.
The City boss has said about Silva: ‘Next season, David maybe will not play every game, that’s why the squad has to be big.’
It wouldn't be the first time Thiago has followed Guardiola to a new club - he signed for Bayern immediately after Pep's arrival in 2013.
