Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has dealt a major blow to Manchester City's hopes of landing Joshua Kimmich after assuring the player he will receive more playing minutes next season.
Speaking to German broadcaster Sky Sport (h/t Goal's Joe Wright), Rummenigge moved to quieten speculation Kimmish could leave the Allianz Arena after recently expressing dissatisfaction with his lack of match time:
"We have big plans for him in the future," Rummenigge said. "He will be, quite literally, our successor to Philipp Lahm. From next season, he'll get more and more minutes.
