Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola prepared to sell John Stones this summer after watching him slip to fourth choice... and Liverpool and Arsenal could swoop for defender

Pep Guardiola is ready to cash in on John Stones this summer, just two years after making him the second most expensive defender in the world.

According to The Sun, Guardiola does not believe the 23-year-old has improved enough to warrant a place in his starting XI ahead of captain Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi and January recruit Aymeric Laporte.

Stones has not started a Premier League game since January and has made just 27 appearances in all competitions after suffering with injuries.
