Manchester City 3-1 Watford: Pep Guardiola makes plea to Premier League to reduce fixture congestion

Pep Guardiola launched a complaint on his side’s fixture congestion after Manchester City played two games in the space of 48 hours.

Speaking to talkSPORT’s Dom McGuiness after City’s convincing 3-1 victory over Watford, Guardiola even suggested the games in the short space of time would result in the players being “killed”.

Despite Guardiola’s grievance, the Premier League leaders restored their lead at the top of the Premier League to 15 points with an easy win over the Hornets.

The Citizens were ahead after just 39 seconds when Raheem Sterling got on the end of Leroy Sane’s fantastic cross before Christian Kabasele diverted Sane’s ball into his own net on 12 minutes to put the hosts in control.
