Manchester City's £8.2m move for Velez Sarsfield holding midfielder Maximo Perrone is progressing again after it hit a stumbling block last week.

The highly-rated 19-year-old is set to play in the South American U-20 Championship for Argentina this month, but is expected to travel to England for his medical next month afterwards.

Perrone has been on the radar of Premier League sides Wolves and Newcastle, as well as Portuguese outfit Benfica, but City are set to win the race for the youngster.
