Man City won’t sign injury-prone £25.2m-rated man to replace out-of-favour 26 y/o [Opinion]

Manchester City are expected to sign a new left-back at the end of the season as Benjamin Mendy has been short of fitness, form and playing time this campaign. Pep Guardiola wants an upgrade on Oleksandr Zinchenko too.

The Sky Blues have been linked with Nuno Mendes, Robin Gosens, Nicolas Tagliafico, David Alaba and Gabriel Gudmundsson, but Gazetta Dello Sport (h/t Inside Futbol) believe Alex Sandro is also on their radar.

Whether he’s a genuine transfer target remains to be seen, however, as Sandro’s had his own fitness issues this season, doesn’t have any re-sale value and arguably isn’t an improvement on City’s current options.
