According to Diario Hoy en la Noticia, Manchester City are willing to pay in excess of €20m to sign Dario Sarmiento and the transfer should be completed in a matter of days.
City were closing in on a move for Sarmiento in November, but Estudiantes are said to be ‘disgusted’ at the media claiming a deal is done and say ‘there is no official offer’ for the 17-year-old.
Before any transfer is sanctioned, it has to go through chairman Juan Sebastián Verón and one of the club’s vice-presidents.
