Pep Guardiola has ruled out Manchester City signing another left back as they complete the £11million capture of Anderlecht’s Sergio Gomez.
The 21-year-old had been a target during their pursuit of Marc Cucurella but earmarked as a ‘development’ player, with City planning to loan him to sister club Girona in La Liga.
Guardiola was looking at Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro and Rayan Ait-Nouri at Wolves, but now he feels Gomez (below) can make an impact at the Etihad this season.
Gomez was in Manchester having a medical last night.
