LIVERPOOL -- Gael Clichy said Manchester City were shown how to be ruthless by Everton in their 4-0 defeat at Goodison Park.
City were the better side in the first half but failed to find the opener before Romelu Lukaku scored with Everton's first shot of the game on 34 minutes.
The Toffees scored with each of their four shots on target and Clichy said City, who had 71 percent possession, need to improve at both ends of the pitch.
"It's hard, it's hard. But often it doesn't mean because you play well you will win the game," the French defender told reporters.
