Goals from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane and Alphonso Davies secured the victory, while Alexander Hack was sent off for Mainz.

Joao Cancelo made his debut for Bayern, having joined from Manchester City on deadline day.
