Lauren Hemp claims Team GB's women's football team will improve after beating Chile in their first game... as Olympic gold medal hopefuls prepare to face tricky test of hosts Japan this weekend

Lauren Hemp is looking forward to seeing more improvement from Team GB’s women’s football team after they launched their campaign with a 2-0 win over Chile.

The Manchester City forward and her team-mates head back to the Sapporo Dome to take on hosts Japan on Saturday in what will surely be a tougher match.

Hemp, 20, played a starring role in the opening victory, assisting the first of clubmate Ellen White’s two goals, and she believes Hege Riise’s side can get stronger as the tournament progresses.
