Tributes have begun to flood in following the passing of Lady Cathy Ferguson on Thursday.
Ferguson, former Manchester United manager Sir Alex's wife, passed away aged 84 with the news confirmed in a statement from the Ferguson family.
It read: 'We are deeply saddened to confirm the passing yesterday of Lady Cathy Ferguson, survived by her husband, three sons, two sisters, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.'
Sir Alex and Lady Cathy married in 1966, meaning the two were husband and wife for 57 years, including throughout the former's 27 years in charge of United.
