Dean Smith of Eurosport says new Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants to sign Sergio Aguero on a free transfer this summer. The Catalan giants are in financial difficulty due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so they’re on the hunt for ‘affordable’ players that won’t break the bank.
Aguero is out of contract in the coming months and is yet to put pen to paper on an extension that has been on the table all season. Barca view the Argentine international as the ideal candidate to ‘fix holes’ in their ‘broken squad’ and see Aguero as one of the best strikers in their price range.
