The January transfer window set new records in both the men's and women's games, a study has revealed.
The window for British clubs closed on January 30 for the women and Monday for the men.
And FIFA’s International Transfer Snapshot has confirmed that a total of 5,863 international transfers were made worldwide in the men's professional game in the month.
This is the highest total ever for a January window, marking a 20 per cent increase from the previous record set one year ago.
A total of £1.89billion was spent by clubs on transfer fees, which is also the highest of any January transfer window.
