Former Man United star has just 13 games to save side from RELEGATION after completing a shock move to Argentinian giants Independiente

Former Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been named the new head coach of Argentine side Independiente.

The 39-year-old has been drafted in to save an aligning side who fell into the relegation zone following last weekend's results and have just 13 games to rescue their season.

Tevez, who enjoyed three separate spells with rivals Boca Juniors, will lead a coaching staff consisting of assistant Mario Pobersnik and brothers, Miguel, Diego and Adrian.

The former marksman, who spent two seasons at Old Trafford before a four-year stay at the Etihad following his controversial 2009 cross town transfer, has previous managerial experience after guiding Rosario Central for 24 matches last year.
