Manchester City legend Tony Book has spent more than half a century as the only captain in the club's history to lift a European trophy.

Now 86, the skipper of the Cup-Winners' Cup side that beat Gornik Zabrze in 1970 will be at home in Manchester willing Fernandinho to go one better and hold the Champions League trophy aloft on Saturday against Chelsea.

'I won't mind losing the record at all,' said Book. 'I'd be delighted for Pep Guardiola and the club if they do it.
