Fan is arrested by Greater Manchester Police on suspicion of tragedy chanting after making aeroplane gesture at Man United supporters in reference to 1958 Munich disaster

A fan seen in the home section at the Etihad has been arrested on suspicion of tragedy chanting, according to Greater Manchester Police.

During Sunday's 3-1 win for Manchester City over rivals Manchester United, footage on social media showed an individual being led away by stewards after making an aeroplane gesture in the direction of visiting fans.

The gesture was said to be in reference to the 1958 Munich Air Disaster, in which 23 people died on their way home from a European match, including many members of the Manchester United football team nicknamed the 'Busby Babes'.
