Pep Lijnders has agreed to join Pep Guardiola’s staff at Manchester City and set to start before the Club World Cup.
The ex-Liverpool assistant, who enjoyed huge success under Jurgen Klopp before leaving with the German last year, has been out of work since December.
Lijnders wanted to branch out into management but only lasted six months into a spell in charge of Red Bull Salzburg last season.
Guardiola has seen three members of his backroom team leave once City secured Champions League qualification by finishing third in the Premier League.
