Eric Garcia desperate to push through £2.7m transfer to cash-strapped Barcelona with Manchester City defender 'ready not to be paid a salary until the end of the season', reveals presidential candidate Victor Font

Manchester City defender Eric Garcia has told Barcelona he is willing to play for nothing if his transfer can be agreed this window.

Barcelona have bid £2.7million for his serviced but, with huge debts, there is opposition within the club to completing a deal now as he will join for free in the summer.

Presidential candidate Victor Font said: 'We're asking the acting board to sign Garcia. City would accept €3m plus add-ons and we wouldn't have to pay until next season. The player's also ready to not be paid a salary until the end of the season.
