Manchester City have signed 22-year-old defender Pablo Mari from Gimnastic Tarragona, but are expected to loan him straight back to the Spanish second devision.
The young Spaniard joins the Premier League side from Gimnastic Tarragona, and it is understood he will not join their Segunda Division rivals Girona.
Mari had been with Gimnastic since 2013, making 90 appearances.
A statement on the club's website, which confirmed the deal, said: "We thank Pablo Mari for his commitment, discipline and hard work that he has contributed during these three years in the ranks of the first team.
