We shouldn’t be surprised that Antonio Conte wants Harry Kane to sign a new contract.
No manager wants a summer of speculation like the one last year involving Manchester City. That was a messy situation. From the outside it looked like toys were thrown out of the pram and it impacted Kane’s performances at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Word is Daniel Levy tried to offer an olive branch by upgrading Kane’s current £200,000-a-week deal. That didn’t happen.

But now I cannot help but wonder whether Conte voicing his thoughts is an opportunity in disguise for the England striker.
