Barcelona president Joan Laporta has reportedly promised two new signings this January following Sergio Aguero's shock retirement as the Catalans search for reinforcements.
Former Manchester City star Aguero, 33, joined the LaLiga giants in the summer but on Wednesday was forced to retire due to a heart problem.
The cash-strapped Catalans - who are saddled by debts exceeding £1billion - are in desperate need of new signings after their worst start to a season in 34 years, with club legend Xavi tasked with turning the tide after Ronald Koeman's sacking.
