‘Awful’ – Some fans hope Man City player’s ‘confidence doesn’t drop’ after ‘horrendous mistake’

Manchester City came from a goal down against Aston Villa to win 2-1, but they had to do it without John Stones. The 26-year-old was sent off for a challenge on Jacob Ramsey, having also been culpable for City conceding the opening goal, so it wasn’t a good day at the office.

Stones got off to a bad start by misjudging a through ball to Ollie Watkins that he fed to John McGinn for the opening goal. Then he was given a straight red card for a high challenge on Ramsey after VAR reviewed the decision.
