After news that Ilkay Gundogan will be out for "a long, long time," Manchester City have been linked with Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke. A move seems unlikely in January, but ESPN FC looks at a potential deal for the Spain international.

Koke is under contract until 2019, as part of Atletico's policy of tying down their most important emerging stars to long-term deals. That contract was signed back in summer 2014, amid apparent interest from Barcelona, when the homegrown midfielder was aged 22 and had established himself as a key member of the team which won the La Liga title and reached the Champions League final.
