Athletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone insists Sim Vrsaljko is a big player for the club amid interest from Manchester City

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has broken his silence on the future of want-away star Sime Vrsaljko, who is a target for Manchester City.

As talkSPORT told you this week, the full-back has reportedly asked to leave the La Liga club after struggling to establish himself in the first team.

The 25-year-old arrived in July 2016 but has started just 13 league games for the side since, leading to suggestions he could move on.

Napoli are hopeful of luring the former Genoa and Sassuolo man back to Italy but City boss Pep Guardiola, still in the market for new full-backs, is said to be a big fan.
