Alexander Isak will return to Liverpool training today after missing the last three weeks through injury – and the British record signing has a chance of making the squad for Sunday’s trip to Manchester City.
Isak has had a frustrating start to life on Merseyside, scoring just one goal – in the Carabao Cup – and struggling for fitness. He had a limited pre-season after forcing a move from Newcastle and has picked up a couple of niggling issues since his transfer.
The Swede went off with a groin problem at half-time against Eintracht Frankfurt and has not been seen since – but Isak will return to full training for the first time on Friday and is in contention to make the substitutes bench against City.
