Arne Slot delivers worrying Alexander Isak injury update ahead of Liverpool's Real Madrid and Man City double-header

Alexander Isak's frustrating start to life at Liverpool will continue this week as the British record signing has been ruled out of Tuesday's clash with Real Madrid and is in a race against time to be fit to face Manchester City at the weekend.

The £125million man has scored just one goal since his much-slated move to Merseyside but has been irked by fitness concerns exacerbated by a recent groin injury.

And ahead of a titanic tussle between English champions Liverpool and 15-time kings of Europe Real Madrid, Slot says Isak is not fit - and is up against it to be on the bench at the Etihad Stadium.
